Since answering machines had such an important role before voicemail, and even when voicemail began in commercial markets in the mid 1980s, it was designed almost as a fancy answering machine and it’s Saint Valentine’s Day, why don’t we just have some fun and quote movies like He’s Just Not That Into You and relive the days of romantic rejections 25 years ago
We could probably all relate being rejected by the different portals, but if you’re a phone guy or an IT gal, and you’re a certain age, you could relate to Mary (played by Drew Barrymore.) Her dramatic reminiscing was so great!
“I miss the days where you had one phone number and one answering machine and that one answering machine housed that one cassette tape and that one cassette tape ether had a message from the guy or it didn’t. And now you just have to go around checking all these different portals to just get rejected by seven different technologies. [sighs]. It’s just – exhausting.”
