My Collection

Since my current residence in 2010, this list has become exhaustive

The top of the list is actual telephones that can be connected a Plain Ol Telephone Connection or the old fashioned DIY intercom. This was what TMOT was supposed to be not some modern proprietary stuff.

The lower the list are the stereotypical “Office phones” that are basically glorified electronic devices that needs a “brain”, a controller or phone system beit a PBX or Key Telephone or a specific Voice over IP server. Office phones and home phones are not the same and cannot be connected to either one.

This list has been update as late as August 2026. The last year leading up to the 150th of the Telephone, I splurged on many POTS sets, not because it was cool, not because it was cheap on eBay, but was something unique.

The intent of my collection is to connect experiences with these things. Not trying to get introverted dweebs to like hardware and photos, but to read and engage with the devices. At one point the telephone was considered to be anti-social. COVID also didn’t make the world feel so seperated, it predated a long time before, with various social moments adding up. The algorithms aren’t new. They go back to the days of the Hunt Groups!
